Dr. Helen Moreira, M.D.

Dr. Helen Moreira is a LASIK and cataract surgeon at the Nielsen Eye Center. She is a partner and co-owner with Dr. Nielsen and strives to provide a holistic approach to eye care—customizing treatment options with the most advanced technology for each individual. She is a skilled surgeon who has already performed thousands of LASIK, refractive cataract surgery, glaucoma procedures, and eyelid surgeries.

Dr. Moreira graduated from Mount Holyoke College and earned her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. While at UMass, she was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated in the top 10% of her class as an American Women’s Association Scholar. She also earned several grants for international medical missions in Costa Rica and India. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at Brown University.

Dr. Moreira is a faculty member in the Department of Surgery/Ophthalmology at Brown University Alpert Medical School. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
