Dr. John Halgren, M.D.

Dr. John Halgren is one of Nebraska’s most experienced ophthalmologists, having served the midwest for over 21 years. Dr. Halgren specializes in corneal diseases, corneal transplantation, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery. Dr. John Halgren is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine.

He completed his residency training at UNMC in 1999, followed by a fellowship in corneal and external disease at the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Halgren has been board certified in ophthalmology since 2000 and participates in continuing education programs around the country. Today he is one of a handful of fellowship-trained corneal specialists in private practice in Nebraska.
