About Dr. Lillie Mosaddegh:
Dr. Lillie Mosaddegh is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a legacy spanning over 26 years. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, finishing first in a class of 220. She completed a year of internship in internal medicine at California Pacific Medical Center, where she also completed her residency in ophthalmology. Under the direct mentorship of Dr. Allen Scott, the inventor of botulinum toxin (Botox®), she gained expertise in Botox® applications for strabismus, blepharospasms, and cosmetic enhancements. Her residency under Dr. Scott has profoundly expanded her repertoire to encompass a wide range of aesthetic treatments and procedures. Dr. Mosaddegh holds her certification from the medical board of examiners and served as a long-term executive board member of the Eye Surgery Center of San Francisco as well as the technology company DocuSign.
Establishing her practice in 1998, she serves as the CEO overseeing thriving, multi-location practices demonstrating exceptional expertise in areas such as premium cataract cases, complex dry eye management, diabetes, glaucoma, medical retina, and autoimmune related ophthalmic care. Dr. Mosaddegh was the first in the nation to implant the Clareon Panoptix Multifocal Lens. Furthermore, she conducted a clinical study on this lens to gather real-life data on its performance and visual outcomes. She presented her findings at ASCRS and the World Ophthalmology Congress. She was also the first in San Francisco to implant the RX Sight Light Adjustable Lens (LAL+). Dr. Mosaddegh is recognized as a highly sought-after surgeon, speaker and consultant on anterior segment diseases and treatments, having presented at numerous national and sponsored meetings attended by ophthalmologists, optometrists, primary care physicians, and allergists. She has conducted clinical research on the performance of multiple premium IOLs and contributed to pharmaceutical research on dry eye treatments.
Dr. Mosaddegh believes that dry eye management and cataract surgery outcomes are closely linked, as a healthy ocular surface is crucial for optimal surgical outcomes and vision. Dry Eyes can impact intraocular lens calculations, and cataract surgery can often temporarily worsen OSD or cause dry eye flares. She integrates dry eye treatment into her pre-surgery regimen to ensure the best outcomes for her patients. By addressing ocular surface health beforehand, she maximizes the effectiveness of her advanced surgical techniques, technology, and premium IOLs, ultimately delivering superior results. Dr. Mosaddegh is a visionary, inventor and multiple patent holder in the field of dry eyes and public safety inventions. As a key opinion leader in the field of dry eyes and founder of the Dry Eye Academy, she has hosted multiple symposiums dedicated to raising public and professional awareness about dry eye management and the critical role of ocular surface health in successful cataract surgery. Dr. Mosaddegh remains at the forefront of technology to deliver the best outcomes both surgically and medically.
