Brandon Rodriguez, MD, is a board-certified, nationally recognized ophthalmologist specializing in advanced cataract and refractive surgery, including Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL), Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), LASIK, and PRK.
After earning his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine, Dr. Rodriguez was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Following the events of 9/11, he volunteered to deploy overseas with a U.S. Marine Corps infantry battalion on two deployments, including service in Afghanistan.
After completing his active-duty military service, Dr. Rodriguez completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University in New York City
Dr. Rodriguez’s advanced training and extensive experience in advanced technology lenses and laser cataract surgery, Refractive Lens Exchange, and ICL procedures have led to appointments on numerous medical advisory boards for companies throughout the United States. He has published in medical journals, participated in clinical trials and research studies, and is a frequent guest speaker at leading ophthalmology meetings in the U.S. and Europe.
Dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients, Dr. Rodriguez has received numerous honors, including Best Doctors in America, Tampa’s Elite Doctors, Who’s Who Among Healthcare Professionals & Executives in America, the Mellinger Medical Award, and the Hy Berman Memorial Award in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Rodriguez lives in Tampa with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and cooking.
